Kevad/ Spring

Kevad on viimaks kätte jõudnud. Sellest annavad tunnistust metsas ja aias õitsevad lilled, pajuurvad ja lehepungad. Ka paljud linnud on kohale jõudnud meil pesitsema.
Käisin kevadmärke otsimas möödunud laupäeval, 29.03.2014 Kloostrimetsas ja Tallinna Botaanikaaias.

Õhus on kevadet/Spring is in the air

Õhus on kevade lõhna. Väljas on esimesed pungad.

Beautiful sunny and warm weather on Saturday was lucky to wander off. The trend of the Pirita River valley, as always, if something is not particularly planned, and no personal transportation.
The aroma of spring is in the air. Outside are the first buds. The river is still a bit of ice, and it makes interesting reflections.
There is no wild flowers in the forest. The first crocuses are blooming only in the park.

Norra-Oostriku allikad/ Norra-Oostrik water sources

Ehitatud on hoone 1792.a. ning kuulus üle 300 aasta  kuni 1908.a. Knorringutele.

By Sunday, the weather was once again wintry. So this was the weather, which I had dreamed of the last few years. This, with the white snow and the warm rains to the ground where the waters are ice-free. This white softness windless weather reflected back from the surface several times. Perfect!
Looduse Omnibus led us this time to Pandivere  Emumäe where 21.5 m high wooden observation tower had a wonderful view of the surrounding fields. We also visited the wood sculpture alleys, Salla village and Norra-Oostrik water source there. We watched the Norwegian manor house, which has now new roof, the more decomposition. Built as a building 1792.a. and belonged over 300 years until 1908 to Knorrings.

Vaid nokk on punakam sel. Emaslindudel aga pidigi punast nokas leiduma...
Ka Valgesoo oli muljetavaldav. Alguses tundus see peaaegu ilma laugasteta soo ebahuvitavana, aga praegu seal domineeriv eriline punakas taim andis soole kauni varjundi.

Last Sunday I took part of the journey by Nature Omnibus to Taevaskoja and Valgesoo. There was an unusually warm and in Southern Estonia was 7 plus degrees. Normally, it would be expected as far subzero temperatures. Beautiful nature, the sun. I have never before visited Taevaskoda in spring. Always in the summer. In early spring the views are quite different.
Although the name of the expedition was a trip to the kingfisher, this shy bird, of course, we did not come across. But it is like a bird seen in South Africa, where it is called the African Pygmy-Kingfisher. Only the beak is reddish at that. And females, however, was supposed to be found in the red in its beak ...
Also Valgesoo was impressive. At first, it seemed like almost no pools and uninteresting, but one reddish plant gave that nice paint.
