Eesti orhideed/ Estonian wild orchids

Kui rääkida orhideedest liigub suurema osa inimeste mõte meie kodude kummutitele ja aknalaudadele. Seal ilutsevad suureõielised värvikirevad troopilise taustaga taimed. Aga kaEestis kasvab hulgaliselt orhideesid. Kokku on siin loendatud 38 õitsevat orhideeliiki. Orhideede arvukus suureneb Eestis idast läände. Seetõttu on just Lääne-Eesti ja eriti Saaremaa oma käpaliste arvukuse poolest palju kuulsust kogunud. Kokku on siin leitud 36 orhideeliiki (millest kolm on tänaseks päevaks küll välja surnud). Kõige orhideerikkamad alad asuvad saare läänerannikul, Vilsandi Rahvuspargi piirkonnas.


Kuigi Saaremaa orhideed ei ole nii suured ja värvikirevad kui nende lõunamaa liigikaaslased, muudab tõsiasi, et nad kasvavad otse looduses ja mitte potis, need müstilised lilled eriti kütkestavateks. Esimesed orhideed paljastavad oma imekaunid õied juba mai keskel. Hilisemaid õitsejaid võib aasadelt ja metsaveerelt leida veel augusti keskelgi.

When it comes to orchids moves most of the people thought of our homes and window sill. There will rejoice in flowered colorful tropical plants background. But even in Estona there are growing array of orchids. In total there are 38 listed varieties of orchid blooming. Orchids growing in abundance in the east to the west.
